How do I play the songs I want?
This course is all about playing the songs you want to play.
But OK, if you’re really, really stuck, here’s a golden oldie for you to play along with – but only to get you started.
There’s plenty of songs out there in the style you want!
Now you can play all the chords blind, you just need to watch the syllables where they change.
Each bar is underlined to help you count along.
And don't be fooled by the size of the spaces between chords, that just depends how many syllables have to be squished into the song!
Just play one chord on the first beat of each bar to start with.
And count out loud eg "G 2 3 4 G 2 3 4 C 2 3 4 G 2 3 4" etc
Then build up speed until you can play a chord on each beat of each bar.
We call that playing four to the bar. (4/bar)
Play as slowly as you need to, to make sure there's no time delay
between bars while you find the next chord!
That's why there's lots of FREE stuff included for you,
so you can slide the speed down slower to start with and still keep in time.
And don’t forget to sing along so there's some kind of tune!
(remember part A and B)
This song starts on a weak beat -
count in,
but don’t play until the second syllable.
